Enfin – après plusieurs années de tergiversations – je me suis résolu à partir pêcher le saumon (sauvage atlantique bien sûr) dans son berceau. J’ai pris contact avec THE LAX-A ANGLING CLUB , puis j’ai fait porter mon choix sur la Vididalsa, fréquentée par une poignée de pêcheurs français. C’est une rivière de taille moyenne permettant de pêcher par eaux basses avec une canne à une main. Ma surprise fut d’être confronté à des eaux très peu élevées et à des conditions climatiques inhabituelles pour ce pays : pas de pluie conséquente lors des derniers quinze jours et des températures très clémentes. Cependant de beaux poissons ont été leurrés – et relâchés – grâce aux conseils , à l’incommensurable expérience et patience de Teddy, mon guide que je remercie encore. Eventually – after years of waverings – I made up my mind to go fishing wild Atlantic salmon in the country where it belongs. I got in touch with THE LAX-A ANGLING CLUB, and then picked up the Vididalsa – a river which is known to a handful of French anglers. It is a medium-sized river which makes it possible to keep fishing with a single hand rod with low levels. I was astounded when I came to see the low water and the climatic conditions which were quite unusual for this part of the country. There had been hardly any rain over the last two weeks and the temperatures were mild. Still I managed to lure beautiful fish – and release them – all with TEDDY guiding me with his avice, inmeasurable exprience and patience. I thank him again.
